Meet The Team

Founder Shanell Mosley (Umm Akleema)

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I have been passionate about helping others since my teenage years. From an early age, I became actively involved in my community by speaking out against the influence of drugs and supporting individuals who were struggling with addiction. I also spent time serving meals to people experiencing homelessness and volunteering at local senior citizen centers.

Serving others has always been at the heart of who I am. Those early experiences strengthened my belief that every person deserves compassion, encouragement, and the opportunity to build a better future.

Outside of my community work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, walking in nature, feeling the warmth of the sun, and listening to the birds. I also enjoy kickboxing and maintaining an active lifestyle, which helps me stay physically and mentally strong.

One of the greatest blessings in my life is my daughter, Akleema. Raising a beautiful nonverbal autistic child has taught me patience, unconditional love, resilience, and the importance of protecting and advocating for those who are vulnerable. Her journey continues to inspire me every day and is the inspiration behind Akleema's World, an initiative dedicated to promoting autism awareness through compassion and an Islamic perspective.

Above all, my greatest purpose in life is to worship Allah and strive to live according to the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. My sincere hope is that every effort through Get Out the Hole becomes a means of benefiting others while seeking the pleasure of Allah.

Through Get Out the Hole, my prayer is to help individuals and families find hope, connect with valuable resources, strengthen communities, and remind every person that no matter how difficult life becomes, there is always a path forward with Allah's permission.

Sis. Amina Silat

I am a wife and mother who was born and raised in Pakistan and have proudly called Houston, Texas, home for more than 20 years. Allah has blessed me with three wonderful daughters who bring joy, purpose, and countless blessings to my life.

Family, faith, and serving others are values that I hold close to my heart. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of Get Out the Hole and to contribute in any way I can to support individuals, families, and our community.

It is a privilege to work alongside others who share a passion for compassion, service, and making a positive difference in the lives of those in need. I look forward to helping strengthen our community and serving others with sincerity, kindness, and respect.

"Together, we are committed to helping people rise out of life's challenges through compassion, practical support, education, and hope."

Sis. Muniza Masood Qureshi

Born and raised in Pakistan, I later moved to Qatar after getting married. During my time in Doha, I had the opportunity to serve the Pakistani community by participating in various volunteer activities through the Pakistani Consulate. Those experiences strengthened my passion for helping others and serving my community.

A few years ago, my husband, our two children, and I relocated to Houston, Texas, home to one of the largest Muslim communities in the United States. We were grateful for the opportunity to become part of such a vibrant and diverse community.

Serving others has always been important to me. I look forward to continuing to support the Muslim community by helping individuals and families, building meaningful connections, and contributing to programs that improve lives.

It is an honor to be part of Get Out the Hole, where our shared mission is to provide hope, compassion, practical resources, and authentic Islamic guidance to those in need.

Sis. Dhakirah (Michelle Joseph)

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I am a devoted Muslim who strives to live a life that is pleasing to Allah. My faith is the foundation of my life and guides the way I serve my family, my community, and others.

As a mother and grandmother, my greatest joy is my family. I continually make du'a (supplication) to Allah, asking Him to guide, protect, and bless my loved ones and to keep them firm upon Islam.

I value loyalty, kindness, and meaningful friendships. Whenever possible, I enjoy serving my community by supporting those in need. Whether through volunteering, offering encouragement, or simply making sincere du'a for others, I believe that every act of kindness has value in the sight of Allah.

It is a blessing to be part of Get Out the Hole, where I have the opportunity to work alongside others who are dedicated to helping individuals and families through compassion, practical support, and authentic Islamic guidance. I look forward to serving our community with sincerity, mercy, and a heart that seeks the pleasure of Allah.

"Together, we are committed to helping people rise out of life's challenges through compassion, practical support, education, and hope."
